Worldwideinsure.com saved me from a sticky situation when I was planning to travel to Lebanon. I had already left the UK for Sweden before buying insurance, and only discovered when I tried to get cover that most insurers refused to cover me because I had already left the UK. Swedish insurers refused to cover me because the Swedish Foreign Ministry (unlike the FCO) advises against travel to Lebanon.

Fortunately, I stumbled on this company through a web search and got cover the day before departure over the phone, with the documentation being sent by e-mail. The lady on the phone was very helpful and thorough and I rate their service as excellent. I'm sure I would not have enjoyed my visit nearly as much without the peace of mind from being insured!
