refused claim on travel insurance owing to ash cloud. paid good money for nothing .policy not worth paper its printed on.never again will i or anybody i know have anything to do with swinton or axa .customer services also rubbish. bunch of small-print robbers. will be leaving reviews wherever possible .

Swinton is one of the oldest names in the insurance industry, dating back from the Fifties. They were bought recently by Mutuelles du Mans. They provide all types of insurance and, with 442 have offices dotted around the country, they are the largest high street insurance chain in the UK. I am planning a trip to Argentina in the new year so I recently dropped into my local Swinton branch to enquire about their offers on travel insurance. With so much choice available at the touch of a keyboard, I thought it would be worth taking face to face to somebody. The staff was very helpful and provided me with all the information I needed, even though they didn’t seem to be seasoned travellers. When I went online, I found their website very well put together and easy to use. The quote I got was slightly more expensive than most other specialist providers I checked online but it did take into account the fact that I intend to go whale-watching, even though it is not the main object of my trip down to Argentina. Their travel insurance offer is divided between single trip and annual cover. You can then taylor your policy depending on the object of your trip, be it a business trip, a wedding, a golf break or a ski holiday. They also provide cover for the over 65. Their policy wording is very clear about the level of cover provided and what is covered and what’s not. Their annual policy cover, in particular, is very attractively priced, starting around £31 for an individual and £58 for a family. Their policies are underwritten by French insurance giant AXA for peace of mind. I would definitely consider Swinton for my travel insurance needs because, while not being the cheapest, they offer a lot of security for a reasonable price.
