I bought STA travel insurance for a trip I was making in Eastern Europe, flying to Croatia and returning from Trieste, and travelling by bus and train in between. As holidays go it was not a very high-risk plan.
I chose STA out of convenience – it was easy to step into the branch near my students’ union. I had not made my choice based on price, because I was travelling the next day and I wanted to sort it out quickly. The trip I had booked was only short, so I opted for the Blue Premier policy on the off chance that my luggage was delayed or I missed my flights. While the Premier policy was excessive for the trip I was planning, I could not find cover for luggage delay or missing a flight in STA’s cheaper policies.
Choosing and paying for the insurance in the STA branch was very easy, thanks to the clear leaflets and helpful advice I was given. Before I had arrived home again, I had received emails confirming receipt of my payment and the policy, with all the details and the number to call if I needed to claim whilst I was away.
My trip went according to plan and I did not have to make any claims on my insurance. STA provided a convenient service, which suited my needs exactly by being simple to arrange, and giving me the peace of mind that I had the cover I wanted.
