Being on medication for both slightly high blood pressure and cholesterol and about to go off to Egypt on holiday, I was keen to find an insurance company which would cover me without having to go through the rigmarole of having to fill in complicated questionnaires, have medicals or answer a million and one questions over the phone.
Much to my delight Free Spirit seemed to fit the bill and I found their online quote easy to obtain. The cover provided for things other than medical matters is pretty much the same as any other good insurance policy and it offers both single trip and annual policies with the option of winter sports cover.
It also gave me the useful advice that I should take out a joint policy, even though my husband is a picture of rude health, since were he to have to cancel or curtail his holiday because of me he would be unlikely to be covered on a normal policy.
At almost £400 for an annual joint policy to include America, it is not cheap but well worth the money for peace of mind.
