I first came across 24/7 travel insurance when I was investigating backpackers’ travel insurance for my boyfriend and I. Although the website seems fairly basic at first, it is incredibly easy to navigate and contains lots of useful information on documentation as well as a travellers’ check list, making it perfect for gap year students and other young travellers.

24/7 travel insurance does offer both annual and single trip insurance packages for families, individuals and couples as well but the main market appears to be young backpackers. There is a comprehensive list of activities that are covered by premiums from 24/7 travel insurance and this list seems to include the majority of obscure sports that those heading off to South-East Asia might be tempted to try – be it parascending, sand boarding or white water rafting. Winter sports are also covered on payment of an additional premium but 24/7 travel insurance do not offer a separate winter sports package.

As I already mentioned, the website is very easy to navigate and you can get a quote with just a few clicks of the mouse. My quote was very reasonable and the website even provides a comparison of insurance premiums for a single trip policy for a single adult, proving how competitive 24/7 travel insurance’s prices are. I did not hesitate to buy the policy there and then, I just hope I never find out how good their claims process is!
